Strong prospects for Baden-Württemberg’s automotive and mechanical engineering industry from asvin at the cars 2.0 transformation summit on 17 July 2025 in Stuttgart.
Growth market for automated cyber security for the software-defined vehicle.
Stuttgart, July 2025 – At the Transformation Summit of Cluster Automotive Region Stuttgart 2.0 (CARS 2.0) on 17 July at Arena2036 in Stuttgart, the automotive industry and software providers will address the topic of mobility of the future. At the research campus, asvin GmbH will demonstrate how easy and economically valuable it is to secure production and vehicles with automated cyber security procedures.
The Transformation summit 2025 will focus on the shift in vehicle and mechanical engineering from combustion engines to alternative drive technologies and the resulting need to adopt new production technologies and diversified business models. asvin supports companies in this transformation with software for the analysis and automation of cyber security processes. New drive types, connected vehicles, interactive mobility solutions and the increased use of AI are expanding the attack surface in manufacturing processes and products from OEMs and suppliers.
This is forcing new approaches to ensuring cyber security for individual machines and entire production facilities, as well as for vehicles and mobility solutions. In its partnership with DEKRA, asvin is implementing and automating the approval procedures of OEMs at the Federal Motor Transport Authority, which have become highly relevant to cyber security.
“Due to the increasing complexity of SDV and new technical requirements such as ADAS, i.e. partially to fully autonomous driving, the complexity of the testing process is increasing. Intelligent solutions for cybersecurity testing are therefore essential. This is precisely where the cooperation between asvin and Dekra generates considerable added value,” says Mirko Ross, founder and managing director of asvin GmbH, Stuttgart.
Gerhard Steininger, VP Sales at asvin, adds: “With our expertise and solutions in the field of cybersecurity risk analysis, asvin complements DEKRA’s range of solutions in the area of homologation for new vehicle types. This not only makes type testing of complex systems safer, but also more efficient. This is something that vehicle manufacturers will also benefit from.” (Further information on the DEKRA partnership and vehicle homologation can be found here: https://asvin.io/asvin-and-dekra-agree-on-a-partnership-for-the-digitalisation-of-cybersecurity-type-approvals-in-vehicles/ )
In the ‘AI Fogger’ research network with TRUMPF and other partners, asvin is developing methods for securing company know-how in LLM training data from AI-controlled machine tools. AI in mechanical and plant engineering is a key factor for the competitiveness of German industry. A great deal of know-how is contained in the training data for AI models. If training data from AI models can be extracted by competitors, the know-how advantage and thus competitive advantages are lost. To retain both, AI models must be protected against extraction.
A promising method for this is provided by steganographic techniques, in which meaningful training data is mixed with meaningless data. Only with the appropriate cryptographic key can the user distinguish between meaningful and meaningless data. This makes it impossible to extract training data without the appropriate key.
