In his commentary in the ZFK (Zeitung für kommunale Wirtschaft), asvin CEO Mirko Ross calls for decisive steps to achieve digital sovereignty in Germany and Europe as quickly as possible.
He argues that the dependence on US cloud services in critical infrastructure is far too high. And with the start of the new Trump administration, the very bodies on the American side that were supposed to oversee compliance with the Transatlantic Data Privacy Framework (TADPF) have been weakened.
For European cloud users, this means that there is no longer any oversight of data processing by US cloud services.
