EU funds the development of an AI trust architecture with around 41 million euros. asvin is researching robust AI solutions in the EdgeAI-Trust project.

In mid-May of this year, the Council of the 27 EU member states adopted the AI Act. This established a standardised framework for the use of AI in the EU for the first time worldwide. The EdgeAI-Trust research project, which was launched at the beginning of May with a total of 51 partners, focuses on the explainability, reliability, security and robustness of edge AI solutions.

‘AI at the Edge’ refers to the use of AI algorithms and AI models directly on local end devices and sensors. This enables real-time data processing and analysis without constant dependence on a cloud infrastructure. Edge AI can be used for space travel, in autonomous driving, for remote monitoring in industry, for the analysis of medical imaging processes or for personalised healthcare applications.

In the project, asvin focuses on plausibility checks, monitoring decisions, recognising anomalies and incorporating reliability and fault tolerance in AI systems. The aim is to provide a safety architecture that complements development platforms for methods and tools for AI-based products. This should support the development of collaborative AI-based systems with orchestration, updatability, manageability, reliability, real-time, safety and energy eXiciency.

The EdgeAI Trust consortium, coordinated by TTTech Auto AG, consists of 51 companies and research institutions from 13 countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. In addition to asvin, other participants include Infineon, DLR, ZF and Nvidia. The project will run for three years.

About asvin:

Using powerful technologies, asvin develops predictive solutions for the best possible resilience of OT and critical infrastructure. To this end, asvin uses next-generation AI, graph-based methods known as cybersecurity knowledge graphs and classical topology theory. The resulting asvin product Risk by Context™ enables companies to stay one step ahead of threats. They can deploy resources eXiciently and optimise security investments. The product for OTA updates Device Security BoosterTM and Professional Services complete the portfolio. asvin thus strengthens cyber resilience and protects customer systems over their entire life cycle. https://asvin.io
