Can AI systems become weapons?

What sounded like a theoretical debate just a few years ago has now become reality. Recent U.S. export restrictions on advanced AI models highlight how closely technological development, geopolitical interests, and cybersecurity are intertwined.

This is exactly where the evening event on July 23 at the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce and Industry comes in:
“When AI Becomes a Weapon – How Dangerous Is Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity?”

AI is a double-edged sword: it helps identify vulnerabilities faster and strengthen systems – but it can also be used deliberately for attacks.

This creates new risks for businesses, public authorities, and society. Restrictions on access to critical AI technologies are reshaping existing dependencies and have direct implications for cybersecurity in Germany and Europe.
Following short keynote impulses, the focus will be on open exchange: a roundtable with representatives from politics, industry, and research, bringing together different perspectives and encouraging constructive, even controversial, discussion.

Participants include:

as well as additional voices from industry.
The event is specifically aimed at decision-makers who want to assess the real risk potential of AI and derive concrete courses of action.

Date: July 23, 2026, 6:00 PM

Location: Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce and Industry
