We are happy to announce that asvin’s proposal has been selected in the NGIAtlantic.eu 3rd open call. The project will be carried out in close EU – US partnership. The East Carolina University situated in Greenville, US will collaborate with asvin GmbH. The main objective of the project is to stress test the secure bootstrapping and firmware update processes for IoT devices. It will involve current technologies such as Physical Unclonable Function (PUF), Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). The testing will be performed on EU – US experimental platforms.
The outcomes will tackle three technical topics of the NGI Atlantic interest areas:
1. Discovery and Identification technologies
asvin will provide resilient, scalable and secure procedures to create and distribute IoT device IDs based on PUF concepts.
2. Decentralized Data Governance
Providing an open source stack for IoT Identity Management based on decentralized architecture with integrated crypto mechanisms (e.g. EAP, DLT,
etc) and standardized protocols (e.g. COAP, IPFS) in a public Internet repository
3. Privacy and trust enhancing technologies
Validate scalability and test robustness of a novel bootstrapping procedure using LO-COAP-EAP for IoT devices.
